EMPOWHERMENT2019

EmpowHerMent 2019 is the 8th Annual Youth Conference. 

200 girls and boys in grades K-12 will be empowered, inspired and encouraged by dynamic leaders in our community. Participant in panel discussions, team building activities and career exploration. They will also have afternoon breakout sessions on civic engagement, philanthropy, personal branding and social media. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. The first 200 participants will receive a free t-shirt and conference supplies. 

What: The RISE Project Presents the  Annual EmpowHerMent Conference

When: February 16, 2019 from 9am-3pm

Theme: Empowered to MOVE (Maximizing Our Voices Everyday)

Who: Kindergarten through 12th grade girls and boys are welcome and encouraged to attend. 

 

Details: The students will engage in workshops on health, professionalism, current events, socialism, entrepreneurship, career aspirations and networking. Special guest speakers from across the country will be in attendance. Representatives from WCJC, University of Houston, University of Texas, Prairie View A&M University, Texas Southern University, Stephen F. Austin University, and Sam Houston State University with college information. Each student will participate in network speed dating and leave the conference with a mentor.All senior attendees will be eligible for the Ruiel L Taylor III Memorial Scholarship. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 

Registration: Registration opens November 15, 2018 and is first come first serve. There is a $10.00 registration fee which covers meals and a conference t-shirt. However, the first 100 registrants are free. Each participant and volunteer will receive an EmpowHerMent Conference T-shirt on the day of the conference.

PERMISSION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL ATTENTION
By registering, my student has permission to attend and participate in the EmpowHerMent Conference on Saturday, February 16, 2019. As the parent or guardian of the attendee, I agree not to hold The RISE Project or its volunteers liable for any illness, injury, or accident, which may occur during the conference. I hereby authorize the EmpowHerMent Conference volunteers to obtain appropriate medical attention for the student listed below, if I am unavailable for contact via telephone number (s) listed. Furthermore, I give permission for my student to appear in video and photography from the EmpowHerMent Conference for the purpose of public and community relations.
